The Alpha 9 CDX5 regulator was initially designed as an simple and economical regulator but it quickly became apparent that this combination of an environmentally sealed, over-balanced first stage and a standard downstream second stage was capable of great things. The CDX5 first stage delivers excellent cold water reliability and high performance whilst the Alpha 9 second stage delivers reliability and low maintenance costs through simplicity.
The CDX5 first stage uses an over-balanced diaphragm design.
